I barely remember the first year she was with us, being a sleep-deprived new Mom and all; but I can’t help but picture the tiny infant we brought home from the hospital as I view the awesome young woman she has become.
The future and its possibilities are exciting, but the days are also filled with bittersweet nostalgia.
I’ll spare you the sappy trip down Memory Lane that fills my head with pictures of her growing up, but I will tell you how proud we are of this girl! She made the choice to attend Northern Michigan University in the Fall, following in the footsteps of many relations, including her Dad, and majoring in some area of Natural Resouces - probably fisheries and wildlife.
But we are proud of her for more than that! She is kind, determined and a good friend. She is talented, capable and with a good sense of humor. She enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, figure skating and her cats and chickens.
I could go on-and-on about the fantastic characteristics this young woman has developed. We love her and she is super awesome, and she survived her childhood with us; her clueless, older parents!
KJ, Congrats on this milestone and graduation! It's always such a proud moment for everyone. Hope you've recovered from the excitement and have had a chance to recharge. Cheers, -Thalia
